The British Canoeing Explore Award gives you ownership; providing you with the opportunity to choose where you go next in the world of paddlesport. Working with our coaches you’ll develop a programme that suits your needs. Learning to make confident choices with this individualised approach. Recognising your ability to independently paddle your chosen craft in a sheltered water environment.

This award represents the third level on the paddle award scheme by British Canoeing. Our highly experienced coaches will inspire you and challenge you to experiment with the fundamentals of paddlesport, learn how to choose and effectively use equipment, whilst developing an understanding of the factors which affect your paddling; giving you the confidence to progress to making your own choices on the water.

Course Content:

Areas covered on this course may include but aren’t limited to:

• Clothing and equipment choices
• Lifting, carrying and launching
• Moving forward, changing direction and stopping your craft
• Effective and efficient posture
• Corrective strokes
• Active discussion of hazards and personal / group awareness
• Basic safety and rescue protocols
• Post session review or performance and enjoyment
• Discussion on personal future paddling, experiences and following awards

Price Per Person:

£85.00 per person, discounts available for group bookings.

What to Bring:

• Equipment suitable for a sheltered water environment and cold conditions
• Appropriate footwear for uneven and wet surfaces

This course will run at a number of suitable venues throughout the year, and is available upon request to groups by simply contacting us beforehand.
