Skiing is a traditional Slovene pastime, and although it may not be the best-known ski destination in the Alps, in comparison with the resorts of the ‘big 4’; France, Italy, Switzerland and Austria, Slovenia’s ski resorts may, on the surface, seem to lack in sophistication and après facilities, however a significantly friendlier atmosphere, little to no queues and the knowledge that in most cases you’ll be mixing with the locals rather than the international jet-set crowd, both on and off the slopes, we’re able to deliver a rather more cultural appealing excursion than most.
Our Snowsports Holiday Packages:
We currently provide four holiday packages for four very different mountain resorts; Krvavec, Kranska Gora, Vogel and Kanin/Sella Nevea. Regarded by many as some of the most beautiful resorts in Central and North West Slovenia, each resort comes with a different feel, atmosphere, accommodation, available activities, and of course, each mountain has its hidden gems.
Slovenia has both recently and incredibly successfully started to establish itself as a popular destination for travel and adventure seekers alike. Nestled into the fading of the Alps, Slovenia forms a bridge between the developed west and the Balkan Peninsula. Proud of their diversity, deep-seated history and rich culture, it’s the home to many friendly people, beautiful nature and delicious food.
Krvavec is the closest Ski Resort to an international airport (Ljubljana, LJU, 8km) in Europe. It is in addition a mere 25 km from Ljubljana and 35 km from Bled. The Ski Resort has 30km of well-maintained ski pistes and lies at 1,971 meters above sea level, providing excellent conditions for skiing on natural and artificial snow. The ski runs are varied and ideal for both recreational and professional skiers.
Kranjska Gora is one of the most recognised and established ski resorts within Slovenia. Sprawling pistes extending from the hill of Vitranc to the village of Podkoren and Planica, it boasts an impressive location for beginners and intermediates alike, presenting itself as fantastic value for money and with significant artificial snow infrastructure ensuring well coated and groomed pistes.
Vogel lies high above the magnificent Lake Bohinj in the heart of the Triglav National Park. Perfect for beginners and intermediates alike, Vogel lies at 1,535 meters above sea level and maintains incredible panoramic view of the Triglav mountain range, all the way to the Kamnik Alps.
The peaks above Bovec are usually well covered with snow in December and this is the time when the long skiing season begins on Mt. Kanin, the only ski center in Slovenia that can boast pistes 2,000 meters above sea level. Kanin is a typical Alpine ski center: due to the altitude, the pistes seldom freeze, offering quality skiing on exclusively natural powder snow during most of the winter.
If you wish to stay for any additional days in Slovenia or Austria these will be need to be arranged independently. Travel to Slovenia’s capital city Ljubljana can be sought from the airport during the day and takes roughly an hour.
