What’s Included
This trip has course elements so you will be sharpening your skills along the way, and the main focus will be visiting the various bike parks found in different regions of Slovenia. It is designed to run in small groups of 6 to 8 people. This ensures you get the benefits of peer learning and shared experiences, but we can still focus on each individual and keep the emphasis very much on you. We aim to have you leave your time with us with improved bike control, confidence and an invigorated enthusiasm for mountain biking.
We strive to give everyone who travels with us a bespoke experience, therefore, all our trips are tailored to each specific group to ensure everyone is satisfied and routes are appropriately matched for your level of ability. We will discuss how far everyone is willing to go and make changes accordingly.
We pride ourselves on providing a fully immersive and cultural experience to those who join us on our expedition holidays. We provide all mountain bike guides, accommodation, meals, and transport (excluding flights) so that after a long day on the trails you can relax, unwind, take in all the breathtaking views and leave all the arrangements to us.
Price Per Person:
£1100.00 per person with discounts available for group bookings. If you wish to stay for any additional days in Slovenia these will need to be arranged independently.
Day 1:
Once you have arrived in Slovenia, we will meet at the airport and transfer to our accommodation. However, those that chose different means of travel, e.g. driving, will meet up with the group at the hotel. Once the group is together we will meet, greet, and then head out for a traditional Slovene meal. This provides a great opportunity for everyone to get to know each other, discuss the coming week, and enjoy some great food.
In the afternoon, we will build up our bikes, sort out our kit, and discuss the different areas/routes we are going to tackle. If there is time we will jump on our bikes and blast off the cobwebs so we are all ready for what this adventure is going to bring.
Day 2:
Throughout this trip, we want to share the best bike parks in Slovenia with you and it is time to start that mission! After a hearty breakfast, we will head out to Golte ski resort. Here we will take the gondola to the top of the mountain and hit the trails. This bike park has 4 tracks: downhill (expert), flow (easy/beginner), free-ride (intermediate) and a panorama loop, so there is something for all abilities. We will spend a good amount of time experiencing the trails and enjoying a mountaintop lunch.
After a good day of riding, we will grab a drink and catch up as a group before taking the gondola back down. We will then head to our accommodation to clean up before dinner.
Day 3:
After breakfast, we will be making our way towards Rogla ski resort. We are excited to share this special area with you and take you on some great trails. There is some great scenery to experience throughout, such as nature reserves, waterfalls, rainforests, farms, historical churches, and more. There are 3 routes available, which are all circular. This means that we can all finish up at the ski resort and meet up for some food and a drink.
There is also a bike park available here that you can visit if you wish, it is one of the flattest bike parks in Slovenia with a small hill and a lot of tracks. For those wanting to take a break from their bike and have more of a chill time, there is an amazing rooftop tree walk where you can get some different views of the area!
Day 4:
Today we will be travelling an hour over to the Austrian border where the Koroska region is located, with its beautiful meadows and mountains, to visit the local bike park with more than 30km of trails! After a hearty lunch we will enjoy as many kilometres as we can before heading back to our accommodation.
As this is our last day in this region, we will need to clean off and pack up our bikes to get ready to head over towards our next destination.
Day 5:
After an early breakfast, we will depart towards Kranjska Gora, set up our bikes, and grab a quick coffee. We will then take in this new region and its bike parks, exploring and putting our skills to the test. Once again this area has options for all levels of ability. Once we have enjoyed all the trails have to offer we can visit the national ski jumps which are definitely a sight to see. If we are lucky we might see the national team training and flying high!
Day 6:
Today we will explore the mountain town of Bovec. It is the adventure sports capital of the country, so it would be rude if we didn’t kit up and go riding! There are so many options within this area, with routes for all levels of ability. You may want to explore the natural trails whilst we are here. The main attraction, Triglav National Park, is a place of beauty. It is the largest protected area and the only national park in Slovenia.
In the late afternoon, once we have taken in all there is to offer, we will head to the hidden gem that is the River Soča for a swim to refresh ourselves after another day of riding. For our evening meal, we will go into town to try the local cuisines and take in the unique atmosphere of Bovec.
Day 7:
After an early breakfast, we will move back across the mountains and head for the capital city of Ljubljana. Most people would not expect to travel towards a capital city along some amazing trails, but this is Slovenia and as a country, it never fails to provide! Taking in a trail from just outside the city we shall ride down into the bike park and ride the local trails.
After we have finished riding and had a well-deserved refreshment, we will head over to our accommodation to relax and enjoy an evening in the capital. If you would like, we can put time aside to go sightseeing and take in the city before our final meal at our favourite restaurant.
Day 8:
All good things must come to an end. Depending on flight times, we shall have a final breakfast together before packing up and transferring to the airport where we must say our final goodbyes.
We believe that cycling trips are best spent on your own bike. We have access to discounted bike rentals (not included in price), but we can also help you get your own equipment over to Slovenia. You can pay to fly with your bike easily through most airlines such as British Airways, EasyJet and Wizz Air.
If you are coming as a group we can transport your equipment in our fully insured van all the way to Slovenia and back, to a designated point. Book with us in a group of 8 to get this service completely free of charge!
Alongside your bike, you will need:
