Throughout this trip, we will:
And more!
What’s Included:
Mountain biking is a great way to take in all that Slovenia has to offer, and this adventure is mainly focused on exploring various bike trails across the country. This trip is run in small groups of 6-8 people so you will have the benefits of peer learning and shared experiences, but we will still be able to focus on each individual and keep the emphasis very much on you. We aim for you to leave your time with us with improved bike control, confidence, and invigorated enthusiasm for mountain biking.
We strive to give everyone who travels with us a bespoke experience, therefore, all our trips are tailored to each specific group to ensure everyone is satisfied and routes are appropriately matched for your level of ability. We will discuss how far everyone is willing to go and make changes accordingly.
We pride ourselves on providing a fully immersive and cultural experience to those who join us on our expedition holidays. We provide all mountain bike guides, accommodation, meals, and transport (excluding flights) so that after a long day on the trails you can relax, unwind, take in all the breathtaking views and leave all the arrangements to us.
Price Per Person:
£1000.00 per person with discounts available for group bookings. If you wish to stay for any additional days in Slovenia these will need to be arranged independently.
Day 1:
Once you have arrived in Slovenia, we will meet at the airport and transfer to our accommodation. However, those that chose different means of travel, e.g. driving, will meet up with the group at the hotel. Once the group is together we will meet, greet, and then head out for a traditional Slovene meal. This provides a great opportunity for everyone to get to know each other, discuss the coming week, and enjoy some great food.
In the afternoon, we will build up our bikes, sort out our kit, and discuss the different areas/routes we are going to tackle. If there is time we will jump on our bikes and blast off the cobwebs so we are all ready for what this adventure is going to bring.
Day 2:
In the morning, we will fuel ourselves up with a traditional Slovene breakfast before heading over to Petzen ski resort that is situated on the border between Slovenia and Austria. This resort is home to the Flow Country Trail, one of the longest flow trails in Europe with a length of ~11km. Throughout this trail you will be able to take in the scenic views of the mountains, biking through tables, ridges, and steep curves.
This day is more of a warm-up day for us to get to know the group and how each other rides. After a few laps, we will take in some more of the smaller trails before heading back to base for a beverage of your choosing and a swim in the local area.
Day 3:
Throughout this trip, we want to share the best bike parks in Slovenia with you and it is time to start that mission! After a hearty breakfast, we will head out to Golte ski resort. Here we will take the gondola to the top of the mountain and hit the trails. This bike park has 4 tracks: downhill (expert), flow (easy/beginner), free-ride (intermediate) and a panorama loop, so there is something for all abilities. We will spend a good amount of time experiencing the trails and then we will enjoy a mountaintop lunch.
After a good day of riding, we will grab a drink and catch up as a group before taking the gondola back down. We will then head to our accommodation to clean up before dinner.
Day 4:
After breakfast we will be taking the shuttle over to the Phorije region, making our way towards Rogla ski resort. We are excited to share this special area with you and take you on some great trails. There is some great scenery to experience throughout, such as nature reserves, waterfalls, rainforests, farms, historical churches, and more. There are 3 routes available, which are all circular. This means that we can all finish up at the ski resort and meet up for some food and a drink.
There is also a bike park available here that you can visit if you wish, it is one of the flattest bike parks in Slovenia with a small hill and a lot of tracks. For those wanting to take a break from their bike and want more of a chill time, there is an amazing rooftop tree walk where you can get some different views of the area!
Day 5:
Today, in the morning, we will take a short drive over to the Savinjska valley. There are many routes here that will test people of all levels of ability, some of which are nestled in the Logar Valley. The Logar Valley is world-famous and home to some of the most picturesque views in Europe. However, throughout all the routes you will be able to take in the local culture and beautiful unspoilt nature of the area. After our ride, depending on the day and everyone’s mood, we will either visit a local mountain hut for lunch or pack up for the day.
Day 6:
Today we will head back to Savinjska for another day along the trails. In the late afternoon, we will make our way over to Lake Velenje to swim, cool off, and enjoy some drinks/ice cream at the local swim spot. This lake is one of the largest and most popular attractions in Velenje and was naturally formed as a result of mining in the town. As the evening draws in we will fire up the BBQ and enjoy our last meal in this region of the country.
Day 7:
Today, leaving the area we have stayed in for most of the week, we will be making our way to the capital city of Ljubljana. Most people would not expect to travel towards a capital city along some amazing trails, but this is Slovenia and as a country, it never fails to provide! Riding through trails from the outskirts of the city we will make our way to the city centre. We will rendezvous at Ljubljana bike park to see out the sun on our last day. Afterwards, we will make a quick transfer over to our accommodation to pack up our bikes before putting our glad rags on for our final meal and a drink alongside the river.
Day 8:
All good things must come to an end. Depending on flight times, we shall have a final breakfast together, and go for some sightseeing before transfers to the airport where we must say our final goodbyes.
We believe that cycling trips are best spent on your own bike. We have access to discounted bike rentals (not included in price), but we can also help you get your own equipment over to Slovenia.
