Day 1:
Arriving in Slovenia we’ll meet in Bovec, however, those that choose to fly into Ljubljana Airport will be met by arrangements to travel to Bovec. Upon arrival, we’ll meet, and greet and in time head out for dinner for everyone to experience a traditional Slovene meal. This also provides a great opportunity for everybody to get to know each other, discuss the coming week and enjoy some great food.
Bovec is a small picturesque mountain town in the Soča Valley and will be our home for the next 7 days. A number of evening workshops will run to help our coaches build up a picture of you, your goals and aspirations for the week and to bond as a group. Part of these workshops will be a general equipment check to make sure everybody is adequately prepared for a week of paddling.
Day 2:
The second day is all about suiting up and getting out there for a day of white water kayaking. Our experienced coaches will spend a great deal of time observing you and the group, analysing your paddling and performance on the river and applying some progressive coaching to enable us to work together to get the best outcome for you.
During the evenings our coaches will be available to provide feedback workshops, both on an individual and group basis, with photos, video playback and notes taken throughout the day to enhance your learning
Day 3-6:
Over the course of the week, our coaches will help you to sharpen up your strokes, nail lines and truly get an appreciation for alpine paddling. All logistical operations are covered and are there to support you, leaving you to paddle, learn, enjoy your surroundings and relax.
Day 7:
All good things must come to an end, and on day 7 say our goodbyes. We aim to have you leave your time with us with improved boat control, confidence and invigorated enthusiasm for white water kayaking buzzing to return to Slovenia.
During the summer season, the air temperature is high, and the river water is incredibly cold, we advise you to pack appropriately for these conditions. Our coaches will be appropriately equipped to lead the group in any eventuality. Therefore, if you’re used to carrying significant equipment for your usual peer group we advise you take this as an opportunity to slim your equipment down.
If you aren’t driving to Slovenia or making your own arrangements for your equipment to be transported here, you can hire kayaks from the Prijon Centre in Čezsoča just outside Bovec. We can make the arrangements for you, however, this will come at an additional cost.
Lloyd Langford Expedition Training may be able to transport your equipment to and from Slovenia and provide airport pick up/drop off, however, the timings for such an arrangement may not be convenient and will incur an additional cost.
If you would like to discuss or know more about those arrangements please get in contact with us before booking.
If you wish to stay for any additional days in Slovenia these will need to be arranged independently.
Lloyd Langford Expedition Training Limited provide all attendees with public liability insurance and accidental injury cover up to £5,000,000 during the course, however, the risks associated with paddlesport and outdoor activities are your own and through booking and accepting our terms and conditions you take responsibility for these risks.
