Sought out and home to a number of annual pilgrimages by paddlesport groups, our Absolute Scotland expedition has been designed by professional paddlers to give you an absolute Scottish experience, taking you deep into the highlands and introducing you to Scotland’s most famous classics and its hidden gems.
We pride ourselves on proving a truly immersive and culture experience for those who join us on our expeditions, and for Absolute Scotland we provide all coaches, accommodation and meals excluding venue and river shuttles, so that after a hard day on the river you can relax, unwind and take in the breath taking views leaving all the arrangements to us.
£550.00 per person, discounts available for group bookings.
Lloyd Langford Expedition Training Limited provides all attendees with public liability insurance and accidental injury cover up to £5,000,000 during the course, however you are encouraged to purchase your own travel insurance policy for the duration of the expedition up to grade 4 white water kayaking.
Arriving in Scotland after what will be for some a long and tiring drive we’ll meet, greet and have dinner. This also provides a great opportunity for everybody to initially get to know each other, discuss the coming week and enjoy some great food. From here the night is yours, we choose your accommodation very carefully so that it provides the facilities to unwind, socialise, enjoy the views or simply get a comfortable nights sleep.
Our lead coach and expedition leader will use this evening as an opportunity to find out a bit more about your paddling history, your needs and goals for the week.
The second day is all about suiting up and getting out there for a days white water kayaking. Our experienced coaches will spend a great deal of time observing you and the group, analysing your paddling and performance on the river, and afterwards discussing your individual needs and goals for your time with us, whilst providing the opportunity to experience as many of Scotland’s rivers as possible.
From here on the plan will vary largely depending on water conditions, and in co-operation with the expeditions coaches you’ll learn to sharpen up your strokes, nail lines and truly get an appreciation for Scottish rivers.
Each evening our coaches will provide feedback workshops, both on an individual and group basis, with photos and video playback and notes taken throughout the previous day to enhance your learning if you wish.
All good things must come to and end, and on day 7 we’ll say our goodbyes as a group and wish everyone a save journey home. We aim to have you leave your time with us with improved boat control, confidence and invigorated enthusiasm for white water kayaking buzzing to return to Scotland.
You will need to bring your personal paddling gear with you including paddles and a white water suitable kayak. Although at this time of year both the air and water temperature is cold and we advise you pack appropriately for these conditions.
You are advised to bring any safety equipment you would normally carry upon your person, however our coaches will be appropriately equipped to lead the group under any eventuality and therefore if you’re used to fulfilling such a role we advise you take this as an opportunity to slim your equipment down.
If you wish to stay for any additional days in Scotland these will be need to be arranged independently.
We currently have no upcoming dates for this course, however if you are interested in requesting this course as a group please get in touch to discuss this:Enquire Now
