Day 1:
Upon Arrival:
Arriving in Scotland, after what will be a long and tiring drive we’ll meet, greet and have dinner. This also provides a great opportunity for everybody to get to know each other, discuss the coming week and enjoy some great food. From here the night is yours, we choose your accommodation very carefully so that it provides the facilities to unwind, socialise, enjoy the views or simply get a comfortable night’s sleep.
Our lead coach and expedition leader will use this evening as an opportunity to find out a bit more about your paddling history, your needs and goals for the week.
Day 1:
The second day is all about suiting up and getting out there for a day of white water kayaking. Our experienced coaches will spend a great deal of time observing you and the group, analysing your paddling and performance on the river, and afterwards discussing your individual needs and goals for your time with us, whilst providing the opportunity to experience as many of Scotland’s rivers as possible.
Day 2-6:
From here on the plan will vary largely depending on water conditions, and in cooperation with the expeditions coaches, you’ll learn to sharpen up your strokes, nail lines, and truly get an appreciation for Scottish rivers.
Each evening our coaches will provide feedback workshops, both on an individual and group basis, with photos and video playback and notes taken throughout the previous day to enhance your learning if you wish.
Day 7:
All good things must come to an end, and on day 7 we’ll say our goodbyes as a group and wish everyone a safe journey home. We aim to have you leave your time with us with improved boat control, confidence and invigorated enthusiasm for white water kayaking buzzing to return to Scotland.
Equipment:
You will need to bring your personal paddling gear with you including paddles and a white water suitable kayak. Although at this time of year both the air and water temperature is cold and we advise you to pack appropriately for these conditions.
You are advised to bring any safety equipment you would normally carry upon your person, however, our coaches will be appropriately equipped to lead the group under any eventuality and therefore if you’re used to fulfilling such a role we advise you take this as an opportunity to slim your equipment down.
Notes:
If you wish to stay for any additional days in Scotland these will need to be arranged independently.
