Students benefits include but aren't limited to:
A New Skill for Life
Doing something new for the first time is fun and exciting! Just like riding a bike, once you've learnt the fundamentals of skiing you'll have a new skill under your belt for life!
Improved Social Skills
In current times and after many lockdowns, school closures and disruption to education, social skills amongst young people have suffered. Our ski trips will enable your students to thrive as they learn and grow together, rebuilding social skills, strengthening friendships and even making new ones along the way.
Independence
When students are on a ski trip they must be more independent than they would normally be at home or in school. Finding their way around on their own, handling their own money, and organising their clothes and equipment for skiing builds self-reliance and gives them a taste of adult life.
Students will also gain more and more independence out on the slopes. As their skills develop they may even be able to ski on certain pistes all on their own!
Confidence
Although skiing is fundamentally an individual activity, students will be working together in group lessons. Working with people at similar skill levels to themselves has been widely proven to help children become increasingly confident as the embarrassment of falling for the first time is a shared experience. They will be able to share their successes together too!
Resilience
The challenges of skiing, such as falling, getting used to altitude, gradient and keeping your balance helps build residence. This can greatly benefit students as it teaches them that in all aspects of their life their is no shame in failing, you can get right back up and try again.
Cultural Experiences
During their time on the trip, students will be fully immersed in a new culture as they stay in traditional accommodation, try new cuisine, learn the basics of language and become inspired by the wonderful alpine environment that surrounds them.
Positive Mental Health
This might sound obvious....but getting outside can really boost your mood.
Outdoor activities have been proven time and time again to improve an individuals mental health. Issues such as stress, low mood and self esteem can soon dissolve when young people are involved in skiing. The breath taking mountain environment and invigoration from traveling down the slopes is a great mind clearing distraction.
A Full Body Workout
Snowsports are an enjoyable way to get young people moving. Skiing in particular makes use of many different muscle groups and helps improve flexibility, endurance and concentration. It is also beneficial to cardio vascular health, reducing the risk of heart disease.
