Getting your group to the Mountain Resort of Golte involves two options. The first and often the most hassle free is to fly your group from the UK to Ljubljana, and its Jože Pučnik Airport (LJU) in Brnik. The flight takes a little under two hours and is frequently delay free and on time. Regular flights depart for Ljubljana from a number of major UK airports throughout the week and on weekends, the majority of these however are London based airports, however as as this route is becoming increasingly popular in the winter season as it is in the summer, we expect further routes to pop up in the near future.

From Ljubljana Airport to the Mountain Resort of Golte is a short 1.5 hour transfer via coach as we head into the North East of the country.

For groups not looking to fly and would prefer to make the journey via coach, the route from Calais takes approximately 16.5 hours taking into account time for short but reasonable stop breaks.

The Mountain and Ski Resort of Golte is one of our favourites, well suited for intermediate groups and those with some experience under their wings, the resort does boast something for everyone!

The Mountain Resort of Golte is an excellent choice for school ski trips. Small, yes, however what it lacks in size and sophistication it makes up for in spirit. As a local resort to the Savinjska Valley, you'll find all the benefits of large commercial resorts; well groomed pistes, a range of slopes for beginners and intermediates alike, but also forest trails, hidden slopes and most importantly of all, little to zero queues and a friendly atmosphere. 

The main access points to the resort is the Žekovec cable car that connects the base of the mountain to the hotel. It is the longest in Slovenia at 3,270 meters and stems the flow of people entering the resort, keeping numbers low and the feel personal. Golte may not maintain the significant altitude of the large resorts of the big 4; Austria, France, Italy and Switzerland, and therefore it isn't as snow sure, but it does boast extensive snowmaking facilities and sees a good 4 month season from the end of December to late March/early April.

For intermediate and advanced skiers there is a fantastic range of red runs with big open slopes and tight, technical and challenging woodland runs for those wishing to progress and push themselves. The careful design of the area and the modern lift system enables budding beginners and intermediates to achieve rapid progression throughout their stay.

We understand that being on the slopes and learning to ski isn't the only focus of a school ski trip, the young people need some time to relax, enjoy the company of their peers and let off some steam in a safe and enjoyable environment.

The Mountain and Ski Resort of Golte has plenty to offer school ski groups for an action-packed week of après-ski activities. As standard we include a range of communal activities and the resources for teachers to run them, however there are also many additional activities that your young people can get involve with.
